Something has changed at Dada and we wanted to tell you why, in our own words.
If you've been with us a while, you'll know Dada was never really about jewellery. It started with a grandfather. Dada means "grandfather" in South Asian culture, and ours was the man who raised our founder Ravi, gifted him his first pieces, and met every hard moment with the kind of wisdom that only comes from a life fully lived. Every piece he gave held a meaning or a memory. That's the idea the whole brand is built on: that what you wear should mean something. (You can read the full story here.)
That part hasn't changed, and it never will. What's changed is who we're able to make it for.
Why we moved to gold-plated and why we're proud of it
Until now, our pieces were made in solid gold and silver. They were beautiful. They were also out of reach for a lot of the people we most wanted to reach.
So we made a decision, and we want to be open about it: we've moved to waterproof, tarnish-free 18k gold-plated pieces. It means the craft and the meaning stay exactly the same, but the price doesn't put them out of reach. A Dada ring is now £28, built to be worn in the shower, at the gym, through real life, without fading.
We didn't do this to cut corners. We did it because meaning shouldn't be a luxury. The women who most need a daily reminder of their strength, their intuition, or their own worth shouldn't have to be able to afford solid gold to carry one. Making these pieces accessible means more people get to feel what they're designed to make you feel — and that, to us, is the whole point.
What we design for
Every Dada piece begins with an emotion, not an aesthetic. We design around the chapters people actually live through, coming back from betrayal, learning to trust your gut, learning to accept yourself and we build the meaning into the piece so it can quietly travel with you through it.
That's why our rings have names and stories rather than just product codes. They're meant to be companions, not accessories.
Meet the collection
Our relaunch collection is three rings, each carrying its own story. Thorne is for the strength you find on the other side of betrayal. Luci is a talisman for protecting your peace and trusting your instincts. Parva is a reminder of the beauty in being exactly who you are.
